Dental implants can replace missing teeth or be used to fill a gap after a tooth has been extracted.
Dental implants are metallic cylinders which need to be inserted into the jawbone. Once this post is securely in place it can be used to support a replacement tooth.
Some other reasons to have Dental Implants are as follow:
- Replace a single tooth to stop wear or grinding to adjacent teeth.
- As an anchor to support a fixed bridge
- Support loose teeth. The implant will be splinted to the loose tooth.
- Replace teeth where there are none
- Help support full dentures to eliminate clicking and moving.
Cosmetic treatments such as Crowning, veneer or whitening are all popular treatments to restore damaged stained or crooked teeth.
Cosmetic surgery in Malaysia | Dental Crown
A crown is a tooth-shaped cover placed over a tooth that is badly damaged or decayed. A crown, which many people call a cap, is made to look like your tooth. Crowns may be placed for several reasons. But generally, the tooth has been extensively damaged by decay or breakage. And filling material can’t replace the missing tooth structure and make the tooth strong enough.
A crown may hold together parts of a cracked tooth and can be used to hold a bridge in place. Crowns also are used for cosmetic purposes to cover misshapen or badly discoloured teeth.
Some people with small teeth may consider using the crown as well.
Crowns can be all metal, porcelain fused to metal (PFM), or all ceramic. Metals include gold alloy, other alloys (palladium) or a base-metal alloy (nickel or chromium). The all-metal or PFM crowns are stronger and are better choices for back teeth than ceramic crowns.
PFM and all-ceramic crowns are the same colour as your natural teeth. They look just like normal teeth.
Cosmetic surgery in Malaysia | Dental Bridge
In general, bridges are the use of crowns for restoration, except they are in units of two or more to complete the case. The most common being three unit bridge. The tooth on each side of the space you are replacing are used to support the false tooth you are adding. These multiple units can be very helpful with spaces bordered by teeth that have larger restorations already in them.
Cosmetic surgery in Malaysia | Veneer
Certainly, veneers are ideal for teeth that are too small, too big or have uneven surfaces. It is very common for people to have imperfect teeth, either oddly shaped teeth, chipped teeth, crooked teeth, teeth with small holes in them, or an inappropriate sized tooth or teeth that have an odd appearance. Veneers solve such irregularities and create a durable and pleasing smile.
Veneers are thin shells that are bonded to the front parts of teeth. If most of the tooth remains, veneers can improve the look of the tooth without cutting it down enough to place a crown.
Cosmetic problems that can be corrected with veneers include:
– Teeth that are slightly crooked or stained
– Chipped teeth
– Gaps between teeth
– Teeth that are different lengths
Invisible Braces – Achieve perfectly straight teeth without anyone knowing you are wearing braces.
Cosmetic surgery in Malaysia | Invisalign
In fact, the Invisalign system is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth and achieve the smile you’ve always dreamed of. Using advanced 3-D computer-imaging technology, Invisalign depicts your complete treatment plan, from the initial position of your teeth to the final desired position. Then a series of clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth – and your teeth only – to move them little by little. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series until the final position of your teeth is achieved.
Your Invisalign treatment time will be determined by your doctor, based on your specific needs. The treatment will consist of a series of aligners that you switch out about every two weeks. Each aligner is individually manufactured with exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into place.
You will not need to see your dentist every time your aligner is replaced but it is advisable to keep in contact with him to make sure the treatment is progressing properly.
There are a lot more treatment options available which can be explained by our dental surgeon during a consultation.
If you would like to know more about any of these procedures, please send us an email or fill in an inquiry form. We will get back to you with an estimate of prices and can also get advice from our Dental Surgeon on your behalf.
